Foscam IP Camera tool known as Equipment Search tool is a software that allows you to find the IP address of a Foscam camera on your local network. Also you can modify various network settings of Foscam cameras such as change the IP address, modify the gateway, the subnet mask, the DNS, http ports etc.

Chances are you were referred to us because you need/or want to access your camera at any time, but your network has a dynamic IP address.

Luckily, your Foscam device comes preconfigured to support our dynamic DNS service. This service will post dynamic updates to your No-IP hostname when your Internet Service Provider decides to issue you a new IP address.

• Our cameras were made by Foscam with some special settings for uploading to Wunderground. The NPAPI plug in support is missing from many of the browsers as they are automatically updated. We recommend you download VMS software from Foscam to manage your camera.
• After it is finished, run the installed IP Camera Tool and it will launch a tool to detect Foscam cameras: Step 2: Configure the Camera Using the Web-based Configuration Tool Double clicking on the camera name in the IP Camera Tool will launch a web browser (IE or Firefox is recommended for this camera.

To enable DDNS functions in your Foscam device you will first need to have a No-IP account and hostname created. If you have not created a No-IP account and hostname please refer to this tutorial.

Enabling DDNS functions in your Foscam camera:

DDNS service: You will select your DNS service provider No-IP.
DDNS User: Enter either your No-IP account username or email address.
DDNS Password: Enter your No-IP account password.
DDNS Host: Enter your No-IP account hostname.

That’s it! As long as your camera is actively running, the device will check your IP address every few minutes. If it has changed we will send a notification to your account and update the desired host with the new IP address. This will essentially prevent you from losing a connection simply because your IP address changed.

Note:No-IPFree hostnames are deleted after 30 days of inactivity. Inactivity is defined as when a host has not been updated or ‘touched’ from the web interface. No-IP Free hostnames must be updated once every 30 days. You can do this by logging into your No-IP account and clicking “Modify” next to your hostname then clicking “Update Hostname”. You can also follow the link in the email we send out 23 days before the host expires and fill out the captcha.

To eliminate the 30 day expiration notice you may want to upgrade to the No-IP Enhanced service.
