VPN ERROR (619) Solution
Jan 06, 2014 Have a similar problem. Windows 7 VPN connection works perfectly fine in Canada connecting to his Canadian office. When the user goes to the US he can not connect to his office in Canada. I have a copy of windows 7 RC1 installed and I cannot seem to get the vpn to work. I am using the builtin vpn software to try and establish a pptp vpn to our windows 2003 server. I know the server is fine as all other clients (vista and xp) can connect fine. VPN ERROR (619) Solution. I am getting VPN ERROR (619) when trying to connect. CAUSE: Some firewall between you and our VPN servers blocks the PPTP VPN connection - TCP port 1723 or GRE protocol. As for your problem, being in Windows 7 you could try to use the OpenVPN option to see what happens. Also check if your router has a option called 'VPN Passthrough' or similar. Update: tested bot pptp and openvpn from a windows 7 laptop and both worked fine. Hope they add L2TP as a connection option and user permission select before final release.
