Look in your regedit somewhere wherever the WCIII files are.
I've heard in some games, it is hidden deep inside the registry (Run -> regedit). Not sure for WC3 though. Have fun w/ ur new comp!

Bah it costs money and I KNOW it must be in my War 3 data somewhere I mean howelse could Blizzard know my key when I log on B.net.

i know if its in regedit, its not nearly as easy to find as Hl's
nope not in the registry
its somewhere in packed files where there are the models and stuff....named war3.something,but not war3.exe
Or you could look for the tool which displays your cdkey when you run an LAN game,but I dont have a link,and even if I did,it wouldn't be allowed on these forums :
With my experience trying to find my lost Neverwinter Nights CD Key, there should be a plain notepad document that holds the CD Key.

I did a quick look around google and found a good bunch of virus info, some cracks and some other junk...
No registry location....
Had a look around my registry after that, couldn't find anything...
*shrugs*
Maybe because I lost my case too and had to use a key-gen just to play on lans.... *sighs*

Oh my, not much help here, ey?
What you do is this:
- Open regedit (Start -> Run -> type 'regedit')
- Find your way to the War3 keys (probably under <b>HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareBlizzardWarCraft III</b> and/or <b>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareBlizzardWarCraft III</b> (I'm not sure of the exact location here, don't got WC3 installed on this computer)).
- Select tht WarCraft III key, choose Registry -> Export in the menu, and choose a name for the file. (Do this for both HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareBlizzardWarCraft III and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareBlizzardWarCraft III)
- Transfer ALL your War3 files from the old computer to the <b>exact</b> same location on the new computer (This is important if you want that automatic battle.net update to operate without problem).
- Transfer the two registry files saved in the steps above.
- Load those two registry files into registry by doubleclicking on them.
- Make a shortcut to War3.exe
- Play the game, grow tired of it, come back to NS.
Notice that we did not find the CD key here? That's because the key is not stored in registry, but in one of the packed files (encrypted too, if I remember correctly). But as long as we copy all the files and all the registry entries, it will all be ok. (Actually, copying the files is enough for playing, but then you'd have problems with battle.net and updates.)

Yes, there is.
The CD key is located in a file, the registry key contains values for various settings that WarCraft III is configured with. I demonstrated a way of copying WarCraft III to another computer <b>without</b> the need of finding your CD key. This, for WarCraft III to function properly, involves copying registry keys.
Hope this clears things up.
Ugh, I tried reinstalling War3 but couldn't find my CD case so I looked for my manual, which is where I wrote it down in case I lost the key. I put it in.. 'Invalid CD-Key'.
